Optimising Autoport's Database
Autoport, an NZ based global car marketing platform for dealers and private sellers domestically and internationally, faced a major issue where their core Azure SQLServer database DTU’s would randomly spike at 100%,
Although based in NZ with grabacar.nz and autoport.nz, their global outreach with locations in the UK (grabacar.uk), Japan (autoport.jp) and Australia (grabacar.au) meant those issues needed to be handled on a 24/7 availability basis, causing some unwelcome sleepless nights.
Whilst autoport.nz’s team are highly adept in IT and had extensively researched the issue via Google, AI and other consultants, they were unable to pinpoint and resolve the issue, so their Managing Director Hamish Lusk (pictured) contacted CODEC.
CODEC, based upon their experience of optimising high scaling databases across many enterprise clients, provided some advice for autoport.nz to implement.
Hamish quotes:
“Thanks to CODEC for the valuable insights around this. It has fully remediated our issue, and I can now sleep at nights without those random pesky spikes.
And I’ve since been able to further reduce our Azure DTU base subscriptions, with unexpected cost savings of thousands of dollars per month.
Our new relationship with CODEC has been very worthwhile, and they are now a key partner to help support and grow our business."
